When business owners plan out their marketing strategy (and it inevitably includes redesigning their website), they are not sure where to turn. There are many options available to them in the huge marketplace of the internet. When they try Yahoo or Go Daddy website plans, they become confused and often hit a roadblock. Some of these options may charge a low fee initially, but then charge a monthly fee for as long as you run the site.

Business owners in Massachusetts might know a little about the internet and have some coding experience, and even have heard of the popular CMS of WordPress. But, they don’t know enough to start themselves, know the language, don’t have the time to spend learning the software, or don’t have enough design experience to see what will give their business the right look to be competitive. Believe me, with thousands of new websites launching every day around the world, you need to be highly visible to stand out and capture your share of the market.

Sometimes they contact Perugi Design. Deb has an extensive art and design background, ten years experience at the Boston Globe planning information graphics and a dozen years of writing html, css and web site code. It’s a mix that is rare in the internet business. But I admit I can’t do it all, so I am developing relationships with experienced WordPress developers and shopping cart experts all over New England and the United States to call on.

We can not only handle all your requirements in developing a sound and attractive website, but also build it with attention to bringing you new customers. If you are not receiving email or calls based on your website at least several times a week, then you definitely need to make some changes.

Here is what we do to get a steady stream of interest:

Write and post a blog on subjects relating to your field every week if possible. Even a news release or a related article you can site is worth posting. These posts go out on Google as a second, third or fourth link to your site.

Decide on two social networks you can link to on your side bar. You Tube or Facebook or Linked In are several to consider. Try to keep up with the two you choose and direct those pages back to your website.

Start a newsletter or use your latest post as a newsletter that goes out to your members by email. We can also easily capture new email recipients on the site with a Call to Action button.

Include an easy to fill out form on your site with a message area, so you get some information up front.

Offer deals and discounts through Facebook or Google Ad Words. Always add a link to the website.

Design the site so that phones and ipads can view it clearly.

So, if you aren’t doing many of the items listed above, you are losing in this marketplace.
Your site should not just be a brochure but a marketing magnet!

If your website is three years old or even older, chances are you aren’t taking advantage of all the changes in the internet now available. Social networking buttons, forms, built in seo, clean formats, non-flash banner sliders and slide shows are just some of the new features you can get included in your revised website for much less investment than before.

My new client was ready to learn content management. He called me on a recommendation from a developer who was getting out of the web design business. His site needed substantial reorganization and redesign. Look at the old site and see if it looks like a site you’ve seen recently.

It is obvious to most people who know my client, that he does not look like the picture on this page. It was elongated to match the image on the right. Centered text, lines around boxes and a hidden menu are just a few of the glaring problems we identified and changed in the new site design.

Now take a look at the next image at right. There are a lot of improvements that you won’t be able to detect from this still image. The new site features a sliding banner of six images and text, a top position menu with drop downs, three featured post pages (below the crop), select testimonials, blog posts and more. Go to http://www.compasshomesolutions.com to see the entire front page. I think you’ll agree it is a lot better than the old site.

Get extraordinary custom web design and consulting at competitive prices. We know that businesses and non-profits have to reckon with today’s economy and we are willing to work within your budget by offering WordPress CMS (content management) sites at 3 price points. We welcome small businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs to call us to see what we can do for them.

What do we do for you at the low end of the price range? We schedule an interview where I present an agreement that outlines what is expected by both parties to get the job done. Usually, the client provides the imagery, including logo, digital photographs and copy.

We decide together what pages you will need and how many. Any pages over 7 will require additional fee of $100 per page. Copy that you provide will be edited by us for search engine optimization and grammar. I can provide you with photographs and graphics including logo for an additional fee.

I provide you with two theme options after taking color, typography and style into consideration. We help you find a domain name or point the domain you have to our preferred host company. After carefully working out the IA (Information architecture) of your site, the text and pages are populated into the theme. Up to 5 Widgets are placed and configured. Up to 5 Plug-ins are installed. Up to 3 Slide shows are made. Up to 3 social network buttons are activated. Site owners are then able to make comments and changes to the layout.

Finally, we provide WP training and support for one month. Clients always feel comfortable calling with any questions. If you are not comfortable maintaining your own site, we charge $80 per hour, minimum one hour.
