Increasingly over the past two decades, whether you have a business, a non-profit organization, or you’re representing your personal brand, say as an artist or writer, your presence on the Web has become more and more crucial to your success. This year, with so many societal and business norms changing regularly, keeping your web site up-to-date with the information your clients, prospects, and followers need is more important than ever.

Are you building a new site, or does your content need a review and some revisions to ensure it’s still accurate and communicating the right messages? Here are some good reasons to outsource your web content development and maintenance.

It didn’t take very long for “Zoom fatigue” to set in, however, as people tired of sitting in front of screens and trying to remain engaged for sometimes hours on end.

But I think 2020 will still be remembered, among other things, as when video conferencing entered a new era. Think of the societal benefits – and not just keeping people safe and healthy rather than meeting in person during the current pandemic. Fewer vehicles on the road means less traffic, less air pollution and climate change, and fewer accidents.

In my daily professional life, I’m using video conferencing to teach my adult education students and coach clients, meet with prospective clients, and attend board and committee meetings for the non-profit organizations I work with pro bono. And it saves a lot of time as well – an hour meeting only takes an hour, as opposed to an hour and a half or two hours or more when travel was necessary.

New Website for Framingham Library Foundation

Last week Perugi.com launched a new website for the Framingham Library Foundation. The old site was also designed by Deb Perugi, but was already more than a few years old and needed a do over. Perugi uses the powerful WordPress builder Divi with built in functionality that can reduce the time and add new features to a website. The site should be seen live to be fully appreciated. Here is the link.

Framingham Library Foundation’s Board wanted a site that could also work well as a fundraiser for helping to bring new projects that benefit the two libraries in the city; the Main Library and the McAuliffe Library. The home page highlights the projects already providing new or improved services. Namely, the McAuliffe Library itself, the Bookmobile, Spark Lab and Teen Room. A handy Donate button makes it easy to give and another button for volunteering.

We recently published a new website for David Hatch, Jr. of Framingham, MA. His company, Hatch Manufacturing Solutions, provides sales leads to companies throughout New England. Over the last 25 years David Hatch Jr. has built a solid reputation working for three established Rep groups as well as running his own Rep business. Hatch Manufacturing Solutions offers rich industry experience and a focused approach to building sales and solutions for customers and principals alike.

Rob Hylen of Stoughton, MA has a new CPA website, Rob Hylen CPA & Associates, from Perugi Design. Rob and his associates provide bookkeeping, accounting and tax services to small businesses like yours in the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Look for his testimonial on the home page. He told me he recently went to his high school reunion and received some compliments on the website. It’s all good!

MetroWest Visitors Bureau

The Founding Board of Directors of the MetroWest Tourism & Visitors Bureau invite you to join your legislators, public officials, and business and nonprofit leaders at a kick-off breakfast for the new MetroWest Tourism & Visitors Bureau. Perugi Design developed the web site for the bureau this past summer and has been providing the board and the site’s director, Susan Nichol, with ongoing development and support. One interesting feature is the event listing, where the community can enter their event for publishing on the event page.

This free breakfast will be held Friday, December 9, at the Sheraton Framingham, 1657 Worcester Road. Continental breakfast and networking begin at 7:45am; the program runs 8:15-10am.

NuFit Now for Health!

NuFit Now’s Delaney Taylor is an excellent trainer and nutritionist. She has a business helping people get healthy through eating well and getting exercise. She travels to her clients homes and works them out while consulting with them about their diet. She will even cook meals ahead with you so you have no excuses!

Delaney asked me to help her design a new website, logo and business card. A WordPress template fit right into her budget and we quickly found one that suited her energetic spirit. Perugi Design helped her come up with the company name NuFit Now which was available for a domain. This wasn’t easy considering the number of fitness clubs in the country. The letters made for an easy font logo but she wanted some sort of nutrition icon with the type. Once the logo was approved, it translated easily into business cards which she ordered from Moo.com.

Delaney learned the WordPress dashboard quickly and is happily adding nutritious recipes and advice to her blog. Check it out at http://www.nufitnow.com.

Website for Gatlin Law

Yesterday, I published a WordPress website for a client who is a new partner at Michael Gatlin Law in the Saxonville neighborhood of Framingham. Julie Ladimer wanted the site to be updated and reflect the skills that she and Michael bring to the company. She also wanted to be able to manage the content and blog herself.

We picked out a theme on WordPress.org and got started. The old site included useful content, but was not interesting and looked out of date and unprofessional. The new site has a beautiful banner photograph (made by layering a transparent color image over a duotone of the same photo in Photoshop), contemporary menu buttons and additional pages and content that help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Take a look at the after picture and see if you agree that the new WordPress site reflects the professionalism of this law office!
